Urban Gardens

The CSI Grant (A MSP federally funded three year Science grant for Districts 7, 8, 25 and 26) is proud to partner with The Queens Botanical Garden and P.S. 219Q in a 30 hour workshop that will focus on beautifying their grounds and creating a sustainable and peaceful space for students, faculty and parents to enjoy throughout the year.   Teachers participating in this program will learn the fundamentals of gardening and how these lessons can easily translate into classroom instruction that will enhance their Science instruction.  Teachers will learn to make compost and create a “green” space that is environmentally friendly.  Teachers who sign up will participate in this program for three years and will share their knowledge with other faculty members.
